Different route 10/20/2014, Bartlett, Illinois

“It’s autumn, the air is crisp and cool – like nature is in a self reflective mood. As I go for my morning walk, I feel the leaves whispering soft goodbyes, their work done for the year, with a promise to meet again soon”.- Z said

Today has been a deceptive sunny day, cold and sunny.
When Z was leaving for work, she said , go for a walk today Purvi !
I answered ‘ it’s cold!’ to which she replied, ‘it’s not going to get any warmer from now on. Just cover up warm and go for a walk.’
And I am glad I did.

I followed a different walking route today. The long stretch of the walking path looked sunny and I wanted to be warm. I covered my head and walked the path. Later in the evening A&A invited me to photograph their ‘little garden thingy’.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Wok tossed Okra

October 11, 2014 § 1 Comment

I first tasted and also  got this recipe from Chef Salin during my visit to The Gateway, Calicut.
I thought of using this recipe to impress my friend Z with the presentation 🙂
On a serious note, I cooked this for Z mainly due to the goodness of Okra and for the delicious recipe.
The receipe is very healthy, light and refreshing as an starter.

Ingredients
Okra – washed, wiped dry, remove the stems at the end.
Chopped onions
Chopped garlic
Chopped celery
Chopped spring onions
Chopped coriander
Soya sauce
Salt to taste

Sautee the okra in oil with a little soya sauce.
In another pan sautée the vegetables with little soya sauce and 2 tbsp of vegetable stock or water, until brown.
Once the vegetables are done I lightly mixed the sautéed okra into it for 5 mins or so.
Arrange the okra and the veggies in a plate and serve hot.

Thankfully Z did enjoy the Wok tossed Okra.

I had been lazy and not gone out for a walk since many days. I was feeling  cold and wasn’t very happy sitting at home the whole day. Finally today, I picked up the courage and went out for a walk in the afternoon. As soon as I started the walk along the walking track, I had my iPhone out to capture the moments which will soon be memories.

Later in the evening I was introduced to some new music  by A and A. I loved the catchy music and the video.
